“American foreign policy in Ukraine is retarded,” Mattske rages after the Trump administration and EU continue dragging their feet on structuring an end to the war between Ukraine & Russia

For decades, American foreign policy has made a boogeyman out of Russia, using them as a cudgel domestically and abroad to forward fascistic plans from the now reunited Democratic-Republican party. A uniparty, with (2) barely discernibly different “wings, these Democrats and Republicans both want the same things around the world. They want war.

These members of Congress especially will use phrases like “forever war,” which sounds like a ghost story you would tell around a campfire. It’s actually code for Mussolini’s fascism, and the rejection of Immanuel Kant’s concept of perpetual peace. The belief that nation-states should and can trend towards states of peace, not war.

Fascism in its simplest form is a rejection of this idea, and an idolatry for state power.

You will hear plenty of seemingly respected people on television talk about the nation of Russia, things about democracy, and a couple of heartbreaking tales of victims of war. Then, when they attempt to share a strategy or idea to change things they simply throw their hands up, say the occupied need more American weapons and encroaching further on the area to preserve it. That’s just occupation with a smile on your face. That is why Mattske is changing things.

Below are quotes from Mattske about the current stalemate in the peace negotiations between Ukraine & Russia:

“In my recent piece of writing Modernizing Security Guarantees I wrote about the need to review the terms and obligations related to military conflict. I think across the world there are probably dozens of wars or armed conflicts that could be settled simply by reconstituting paperwork or finalizing treaties. The United States is still stuck in a frozen conflict with Korea for fuck’s sake…anyway, I don’t think it’s good for the sovereignty of Ukraine to be occupied by any foreign forces. I understand that the current internationally recognized definition of an occupying force is that of the enemy, but to me, it is adversarial what the EU & US are doing to Ukraine itself. Putting them in a position to fight a war that simply allows these Western powers to unfairly restrict competition and hold frozen Russian assets – is brutal – and not something that can be squarely blamed on the Russian Federation.”

“I hear and see people say stupid shit like ‘this is Russia’s war’ or things like that. When somebody aggresses upon you, you know what? That becomes your war real quick. To have somebody attacking you, and simply complain that they are at war with you but still deny you are at war – is insane. It does perfectly map onto the battlefield and negotiations, though, if you look at it. The West continues to behave as if this is Russia’s war and they are only funding or defending against it. That is one of the weakest positions you could take, against a formidable adversary which, is not going to relent. Being bitter or resentful about the Russian perspective is asinine. They think how they think, and will do what they will do. This explains how the entire Western world could be behind Ukraine and yet they are still shrinking. That does not bode well for the future. The world could have avoided this in 2013 if the US and EU would just let Russia buy some fucking Ukrainian bonds.”

“Trump keeps saying that ‘this war never would have happened’ if he were President. He was President, though, and was thanked by Zelenskyy personally for all that Trump did to help him win the election. Zelenskyy, a President who Putin regards as illegitimate, and the cause of this war, is squarely on Trump’s fat shoulders. The fact that the press and other politicians let him get away with spouting the same bullshit every single day about old ass stories that were fake or discredited years ago just shows how retarded Americans have become. Gavin Newsom hiring two social media managers to mimmick Trump’s annoying demeanor online is retarded, too. America is sick of Donald Trump so the answer is neutralizing him, not cloning him.”

People honestly walk around saying they don’t believe a word Trump says but then fully believe him when he claims Putin said he thinks Trump won in 2020 which is such a stupid thing to believe Putin would care about or discuss.”

“When I say ‘retarded’ I mean it in the technical definition, meaning it is impeding, slowing down, deterring, stopping, stalling, or otherwise making progress impossible. Obama and this Rosa’s Law really confused people about how that term came to be a slur against the mentally handicapped, which is never what I mean when I’m saying that. The fact I even need to explain this is in itself retarded, and evidence of how retarded the entire country has become. But the way American foreign policy is composed causes a necessary proxy confrontation with Russia over things which are not actually in our national interest. They are only in the interest of weapons companies who want conflict to exist so their arms are necessary. Meanwhile, this hasn’t even been done well. To the point where the weapons which Ukraine is being supplied are being done with no strategic mindset at all. The country needs to defend itself, yet they are being supplied constantly with offensive weapons they are using to simply hold territory while Putin slow-rolls them.”

“If people were serious about security for Ukraine they would build an EMP field with coordinated interceptor drones to catch those which get through. Like an Iron Dome, but modernized for the conditions they face. This would not stop the bigger bombs or missiles that Russia has also been launching, but it would certainly stop a bulk of the attacks since those are happening with drones a lot these days. Ukraine also needs to reassess their position, strategy, and end goals. Otherwise the Russians will continue to beat the ever living shit out of them without relenting until they don’t exist, and it won’t even be simply because the Russians want that. It’s a matter of gamesmanship, command & control, and state policy, not even morality. Calling Putin a ‘killer’ or all these other terms does nothing but put a wedge in negotiating. American criminal justice has defense attorneys who literally defend actual murderers, and all other kinds of guilty people. Yet somehow the foreign policy is that Putin cannot be negotiated with? That’s just juvenile.”

“Take these supposed ‘security guarantees’ everybody keeps talking about. Phrases like ‘boots on the ground’ end up having virtually no meaning, and ‘Article 5-like’ definitions are impossible because nobody even knows what the NATO promise means in practice. These European nations talking about putting their troops in Ukraine haven’t done it in the last few years regardless, so why should Russia take them seriously now? Russia bombed a U.S. factory today, apparently. What does that tell you? It tells you Russia wants the United States and its operations out of Ukraine under the current conditions. Those conditions could change, if the American position were to change. Believing that Putin will simply change his mind because of a moral argument against his actions, or because the West is upset threatening things they don’t follow through on or have already done.”

“People who work in foreign policy have been peddling this fascistic narrative about Russia for decades that always leads to the same retarded conclusion: war. They do not want to stop it, they do not want peace, mostly because they haven’t been told how to make money on it. That is not my concern; making money on war. My concern is peace, stability, security, and mutual prosperity wherever possible. It’s still possible that I’m wrong and that the Russians are simply murderous psychopaths who are waging war for no legitimate reason. But, the fact is, you don’t lead a country like Putin has for so long by being a total psychopath. It’s convenient when you want war to fund your economy, to have a boogeyman like this here but it restricts creativity. That’s why my proposals are the only things moving discussions forward.”

“I’m older than the nation of Ukraine, so while I appreciate their collective feeling and desire to express pride, they are quite frankly being short-sighted and immature about the opportunity that is in front of them. They are shrinking, losing ground, and being goaded to be ‘offensive’ without a goal in mind by our dumb ass President. Russian history in totality is nearly thousands of years old. That does not entitle them to act however they want or to flout international law. But it means they have collectively gone through imperial transitions, sacrifice of land and people, and worlds of different complexities that Ukraine as a state simply has not. They need to start thinking about expansion or they will only face contraction. That is a point which must be enforced if they want to do more than fend off invasion or friendly occupation from European forces.”

“I empathize with what Zelenskyy is doing, what he is facing, and how isolating it is. But he needs to recognize the West has ulterior motives in supporting him that are actually counterproductive to establishing sovereignty for his nation. I do not want Ukraine as a puppet, client state, or debt slave. The United States should continue to engage in fair competition for business opportunities in this region, while releasing these self-imposed restrictions on what others around the world are allowed to do business-wise. It’s shameful, because the presumption is that without instigating regime change or war, that American oil/gas companies can’t outsell the Russians or Iranians. If that’s the case, they need to get the hell out of that business and let a domestic competitor take a crack at it. American producers and distributors need to be penalized for pushing fascistic policies that have now resulted in the deaths of millions of people around the world just so these lazy assholes don’t have to work harder, do you know what I’m saying? Maybe executives at Chevron and BP or whatever can go strapped to the front lines and defend their interests instead of making Ukrainians die for the price of a barrel. It’s sickening when you really think about it which is probably why so many people including academics and politicians prefer to speak and think in these fairy tale terms. At the end of the day, if Zelenskyy can’t think independently right now, Ukraine will remain a colony.”
