There is a Boomer civil war brewing that has not been declared, announced, or even recognized by the political establishment. No media outlets are covering it. In fact this will be the first publication that describes what I even mean by this. It involves interpreting the uniparty messaging coming out of the 2-party system. I know they appear to be on opposite sides of the issue(s). But they are mostly in lock step. This might require you to suspend a bit of judgment. You may need to give up previous concepts of how the United States Congress functions as well. But if you understand this, it will change everything.
Try Listening To Democrats & Republicans Like They’re A Band In Stereo
Democrats have been championing lifting the cap on Social Security taxes. They want people to pay on more of their money instead of only the first $176,100. That means the Democrats want to fund the program with more money. House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries has said βDEMOCRATS ARE GOING TO PUT FAMILIES OVER BILLIONAIRES.β They claim that Republicans want to cut social security in order to fund a tax cut for the rich. As if House Democrats had no opportunity to draft their own legislation that would have protected those people.
Increasing the taxable income of people paying into the system does not equate giving that money to the poor.
So, Democratsβ speech and action demonstrate a party that has no intention of protecting the poor people who will be getting kicked off government programs.
Thatβs just the βleftβ ear, though.
What Do Republicans On the βRightβ Say?
On the subject of Medicare, Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has said he will βstrengthen, sustain, and secureβ the program.
Though I am well aware that Medicare and social security are different programs, the concept remains the same that all of these programs are under threat of being cut from certain individuals.
If the program is going to be strengthened, how could people get kicked off of it?
Blend the Left & Right Signals and Tell Yourself What You Hear
If these programs will be strengthened (according to Republicans) but poor people will be kicked off (according to Democrats) how could both of those things be true?
If this bill (insofar as the entitlement programs are concerned) was meant to benefit wealthy recipients of these programs and do so by restricting access to poor(er) people. That would leave more money per recipient, with less deserving recipients.
And that, folks, is the Democratic-Republican plan.
Democrats will pretend to oppose it until the point of a government shutdown at which point Chuck Schumer will sell everybody on the lie that there was nothing else he could do. There is nothing else Chuck Schumer wants to do about it, because he serves the wealthy boomers who will be taking advantage of these programs and already are; even to the point of financial abuse or fraud.
Elon & DOGE Were “Bullshit,” and So Is Trumpβs “Bill”
Elon Musk is not capable of providing efficiency to any business. As the most rich-on-paper person on the planet, he is inherently not facile with capital distribution or efficient use of it. He is a capital hoarder. Not a saver. The guy probably couldnβt even budget well enough for a single grocery store trip. Also, the entire DOGE project was installed in government beyond what they had intended due to disruptions caused by yours truly. They were supposed to be a fake non-official agency, outside of government like a consultant.
Executive order making it βrealβ – a fraud – was actually a major mistake. That aside, the real fraud, waste, and abuse going on at a mass scale within the programs of social security, Medicare, etc. are from rich people taking what they donβt need or deserve – away from the poor – and now to this end.
Thatβs why poor boomers need to revolt against both sides of the aisle, and stop looking at Elon Musk as the only rich person who takes advantage of the system. He is and should face consequences. Yet itβs actually more common people, like your own parent or grandparents who are taking advantage of this system.
Start At (Your) House, Then Go To the U.S. Congress
If you are a Gen Z, millennial, Gen X, or poor boomer, you should not rely on social security or any other existing government entitlement program. The rich boomers and their elected officials who seem to never go away (like Trump, Schumer, etc) on both sides of the aisle are screwing you all right now. They are both acting like they are doing the right thing(s) for their constituents. But they are taking advantage of people based on class, and distracting everybody by keeping the stereo channels panned very widely. So you never notice they wrote and recorded their messages together.
Your editor (if youβre a journalist reading this) might be one of those people taking advantage of this system or waiting to. It is probably common practice among money management firms and family trusts, to do this kind of thing. In many cases it might not even be illegal. However, baking legislation into a giant mess of a bill that will rob poor people while giving rich people the benefits or entitlements due to those people within the same program(s) and not just via tax cuts is wrong.
Tax Cuts Are A Badly Drawn Correlation/Red Herring
This is not about cutting poor people off of one program in order to fund another program. That is a fib. A lie. Mislabeling. In some context you could argue about it being true, but mostly that is not going to yield a result that keeps people on these programs who should be on them. Democrats who are talking about βbillionaires and wealthy corporationsβ or saying βMedicare For Allβ like Bernie Sanders are arguing on behalf of wealthy people who take advantage of these systems. He is not fighting for any common man or woman.
Neither is AOC. The βprogressiveβ movement in America does not exist. At best, it is stuck in the past with crusty ideas they try to dust off and pass off as new like βAbundance.β
Meanwhile, the Congress is in unison about to boot a lot of poor people off government assistance in order to give more to wealthy people who could and should live without that money.
Let The Fight Happen: Boomer vs. Boomer
Let this sink in, because it is as real as it gets. Instead of focusing on taxing incomes over a certain amount like Democrats put forth, we should consider having a wealth cap on receiving social security. So rich people canβt take advantage of the system.
Thereβs a fight worth having.

But let this argument shut up people like Hakeem Jeffries, Cory Booker, and the rest of the loud mouth do-nothings in Congress who help Trump and Schumer cram these bad budgets down the throats of people who are currently choking on it from this administration. Do not be fooled by fake opposition. Youβll know things are changing when things change, not when they tell you they will change things.
Let this argument change things, like the narrative about social security and these other programs. Go get in an argument with a rich boomer about it and interrogate them on whether or not they deserve this program or if they would – on principle – give it up for the less fortunate. That is, of course, the reason for these programs.
Busting Up Trumpβs Limp Lame Legislation
There are so many reasons to hate this current incantation of a budget bill, but the bits about hurting the poor to help the upper middle class or bottom rich is too much to stomach. It has to stop. People need to wake up to the fact that both parties are singing their tunes in your ears and lying to you about what the real priorities are. That will only stop when you stop participating in it or perpetuating it.
Ask real questions of people like Mike Johnson or the other advocates for this portion of it about whether it will be strengthening the system by giving more to fewer people. Thatβs not what anybody in the general public thinks is happening; but that is the complete picture.
Combine the lyrics of their broken records and youβll hear the message loud & clear.
