“Burn a fucking Trump flag, to show these whores in government we are proud Americans,” Civic Commander Mattske says in response to Trump administration Executive Order on penalties for (American) flag burning

Donald Trump signed another one of his meaningless Executive Orders which hold virtually no judicial weight today. This time it was fulfilling on some kind of promise to ban or harshly punish those people whose form of protest includes the burning of an American flag.
“I’ve never really understood the idea of burning our country’s flag, but I’m not personally offended by it and don’t think there is any reason to harshly penalize it. Personally, I think people need to find more creative ways that will accurately demonstrate the right kind of outrage instead of relying on these somewhat ancient forms of protest. Burn a fucking Trump flag, to show these whores in government we are proud Americans. Don’t burn our flag. Burn his flag,” Mattske says.
The most notable flag-burning case is from 1989: Texas v. Johnson.
In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court upheld that flag-burning is protected speech.
“The twisted irony of this kind of stupid shit that Trump pulls, is that nobody was burning American flags. There was no widespread burning of American flags as any kind of protest this year or in recent memory. That means it is a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist right now. But the way the fake opposition of the left today reacts, many of them might be compelled to burn an American flag as a stunt, and it could even be staged to look like government crackdowns.”
The precedent set by Texas v. Johnson is nuanced, but had previously been considered absolute.
“People these days are having a really hard time telling the difference between distractions and things to actually be concerned about. That’s often blamed on Donald Trump because the American public unilaterally has submitted themselves to the idea that this guy has some kind of ultimate Supreme Leader type abilities. He doesn’t. The man gets his ass handed to him in court on a regular basis, his administration has been getting beaten up by a nobody from nowhere with nothing sitting at a plastic folding table using a 10 year old laptop (me) and yet nobody notices because all this retarded asshole needs to do is call the press into his office like the principal and they will all report whatever dumb ass recycled rerun type garbage he peddles as if it’s breaking news. It’s pathetic, and more dangerous than burning an American flag in public.”
“MAGA doesn’t even exist. It’s a collective delusion. Burn a MAGA flag if you want. Or the MAGA hats. But burn flags and merchandise with Trump and his name on them. That is a more direct symbolic gesture than burning an American flag which represents our whole history. Donald Trump does not represent our whole history. He represents this temporary decade-long nightmare that people are missing by constantly talking about where we are headed – instead of being present – to where we are. We are not in a place where people are burning American flags, and in part it’s because I managed to tell the world how Donald John Trump was financially conflicted in a way that would result in negative outcomes for all of us, while he personally benefited. That was the original reason I drafted impeachment articles and submitted them to Congress to actually vote on. I did their work for them. And what did I get in response? The fucking Democrats stole my ideas, packaged them in bills put forth by (2) of the most useless and powerless Congressmen. Plagiarizing me. The Trump administration did the same thing with my initial peace plan for Ukraine. These cowards are shameless, every single one of them in elected office.”
Mattske recommends anybody in possession of Trump flags that they own, burn them in protest.
“The precedent of Texas v. Johnson specifies that you must own the property you burn. So don’t go out and steal somebody’s Trump flag. The purpose of this is to encourage former Trump voters or disgruntled Republicans to demonstrate that they no longer support him. This will show the nation and the world that Trump’s support is diminished and invisible. No poll can overcome that. Make it unmistakable so that despite the fact that our political system is run by a fake 2-party system that colludes against the American people to maintain their own survival – at least they can sacrifice Donald Trump at the alter of their own careerist ambitions. Don’t think he is invincible. He is not. He’s fragile, sick, old, and afraid of burning in hell for eternity which he probably deserves. So let him see the flames and have them haunt his miserable dreams. Burn a Trump flag to fight to save America.”
